We have just passed the mid-point of the year. I hope each of you are celebrating some successes as you move forward personally and professionally. If things haven’t quite gone as you have planned, set aside some time to review and reflect (helpful in either situation!) and either chart a new course or recommit to your original plans, applying the persistence that it often takes to move forward.
Wherever you are, in whatever circumstances, I heartily recommended the following tunes to celebrate or simply get your mojo back. Add these to your playlist and get up and dance!
- “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons – “for change, but I am never changing who I am”
- “Don’t Bring Me Down” by Electric Light Orchestra – enough said!
- “Inner Ninja” by Classified (featuring David Myles) – great if you have something to conquer mentally or physically
- “Come with Me Now” by Kongos – love the line, “I’ve wasted time, I wasted breath, I think I’ve thought myself to death”
- “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors – “I had a dream so big and loud, I jumped so high I touched the clouds” and it continues from there
- “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons – “Been dreaming of this since a child…”
- “Happy” by Pharrell Williams – you can’t beat this for feeling great!
Full disclosure – I am obviously a lyrics girl and singing and dancing to these songs inspires me. Perhaps the related videos are offensive. I don’t know; I have never seen them. Or if you play the songs backwards slowly there is some subliminal message (remember the rumors about songs from the ‘70’s?)
Simply put — these songs elevate my mood. Do you have some to share to add to the playlist?
Happy 4th of July!
