Creating Space (aka Decluttering)

Clutter. We all have it. For some of us we derive a feeling of importance from it. Others of us can’t imagine parting with any of it. Some of us are oblivious to the amount of clutter we have.  We need to create space.
Clutter is physical. Open that closet again. Yes, it is the same feeling every time…overwhelm and “I just can’t deal with it now!”. Yet once you clear the clutter from the closet, how great do you feel? How great does it feel every time you open that closet? You showed your spouse the newly organized closet didn’t you? Now you have space should you CHOOSE to fill it.

Clutter is mental and this same process works for your mind.

How great does it feel when you address that lingering task? Perhaps you need to deal with an uncomfortable personal relationship? Although the process may be difficult the relief afterwards is tremendous. In fact you celebrate just a little…and you should. Now you have space.
Identify one item of clutter this week and make a date to resolve it. If you are really bold continue on, identifying and removing the clutter. Let me know about your progress.
