Clearing the clutter from your life will be an ongoing process. The “Clean Sweep” tool referenced in last week’s message is a great way to get and keep clutter in check. Look at your results again and choose 1 to 3 items on the Clean Sweep that you would like to check off in the near future. If you haven’t yet, click here to e-mail me and request a copy of the Clean Sweep to keep you on track. Once clutter is put in the appropriate place – out of your mind and life – then the world begins to open up to all the possibilities that surround you. Over the holidays, I asked you to write down what makes you happy, when you are most thrilled and what makes your heart sing. To think about the dreams you had as a child, when the future was yours to determine. It is still your future to determine you know.

Let’s get more specific and create a list of things you must accomplish in this lifetime. Is it to run a marathon? Travel to Africa? Learn to fly a plane? Build a business that allows you to enjoy and relish in a passion? Perhaps a restaurant to indulge your love of cooking and prepare delicious meals for others? A business where you help others reach their personal goals, such as financial planning or coaching? Perhaps it is to find a way to transition from an already successful business to a role that allows more time for philanthropy or community leadership? Meet the woman or man of your dreams? Have a child? Live on a farm or ranch or in the mountains or by the ocean?

Whatever it is, write it down. However impossible, improbable or otherwise unobtainable it seems, write it down. Our passions don’t die; we can’t ignore what we know we need to do. Actually, you can ignore it, bury it deep, yet it will always be there finding ways to express itself and as a result, you will find yourself continually looking for that deep satisfaction that comes only from fulfilling your purpose in life.

Is this easy? It certainly can be. Giving voice to the things that we truly want to be and do can be extremely liberating, inspiring, uplifting. Even if we feel we cannot be or do those things right at this very moment, we can begin charting a course for the day that we will.
