Why Strengths? Why Accelus?
For as long as I can remember, I have been able to spot signs of strengths in others. Yet I couldn’t see how to make that what I did in my everyday life. Role models for sparking excellence and achievement in the 1980’s and 1990’s were motivational speakers. While I read and listened to them every chance I got, how could that be a viable career?
Restless and growing dissatisfied after 20 years as a financial advisor, I experimented with strengths, taking the CliftonStrengths® assessment in 2009 before launching my coaching business. The spark was lit.
Supporting clients in building businesses and teams, I study and research ways to move from good to great, to accelerate performance in personal and professional lives to levels only imagined, or perhaps not even dared. Able to vividly imagine the future, I help clients see possibilities.
Behind it all lies a focus on what is good and right with each individual. We all have weaknesses and spending our time and energy fixing something that will only get us average is not a good return on investment. Take what is great about you, make it superb and shine doing what you do best.
The work I do in strengths impacts both individuals and teams. You learn more about your unique talents and gain confidence. When confident you are more likely to contribute and knowing your strengths you can spot strengths in others. A virtuous cycle begins that leads to team cohesiveness and greater engagement among employees.
Why strengths? Why Accelus? It’s a natural. Let’s have a conversation and see where strengths can take you.
