What is your Theme for 2014?

Welcome to the New Year! I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful time with friends and family. Perhaps some travel or sleeping in was part of your celebration. Maybe you also found some time for reflection and planning for the year ahead.

Regular readers of this message will know that I have been working on reflection and planning since November. The end of the year provided the finishing touches on reflection and prepared me for planning 2014.

Reflection provides the opportunity to celebrate successes and reflect on failures. Yes, the f-word. If you are doing anything more than standing still in your life and business, you are going to experience failure. To progress you reflect on that failure and learn from the experience. Factor the failure in with the successes and you begin to see what is working for you in your life and business.

As I moved through this process of reflection and planning in my business and personal life, a theme begin to emerge. With almost 4 years as a professional coach, my business has a solid foundation. A year focused on “becoming the leader my horse needs” (2013’s theme) has resulted in a solid foundation of trust with my mighty steed. With solid foundations, both areas of my life are ready for ACCELeration.

Thus I have found a theme for 2014 – BE BOLD! What does a theme do? A theme provides an easy way to remind you of the focus of your goals as you move through the day. Most of us have goals in several areas of our lives. A top of mind theme keeps you focused on the intent of those goals.
