Become Greater with Meaningful Goals

Sixth Article in the Series:
Discover, Dare & Dream

The past six weeks you have worked on the essentials to successful goal-setting. As I described when this journey started, you will find this a far different process than simply adding 10% to your production goals from last year or committing to “spend more time with family”. That last one sounds like a “to-do” rather than a “want-to-do”!

If you requested the free Discover, Dare and Dream tool to pull all the work this together, you will find that you are ready to develop some short and long-term goals. The work you have done to this point will help you create goals that are more meaningful than those mentioned in the first paragraph.

Start by reviewing each of the sections. In Discover, what did you uncover about yourself? A forgotten talent? An important event or accomplishment? An innate skill that allows you to do something so easily that others struggle with?

When you Dare, what emotions are present? Excitement? Purpose? A feeling of “I must do this, no matter what!” Let those emotions guide you in crafting your short and long-term goals.

In Dream, visualize what you have described as the life of your dreams. Imagine doing exactly the things you have described each and every day, with the weeks and months encompassing the things you want to have, do and be.

Now let all of that infuse the creation of your short and long-term goals. I’ll bet you find an incredible amount of inspiration and excitement as you detail the steps you will take to live the life of your dreams.
