Happy New You!

No, that is not a typo.  It reflects the fact that many of us feel the need to start fresh with our lives at the start of a New Year. My last message provided a few keys for setting you up for success in the New Year with your resolutions.  How are you doing thus far?

Around this time in January, many have already given up on their resolutions.  It isn’t easy to make change and while your initial energy and excitement got you started, it is not enough for the commitment it takes.  Why bother you ask?  I held to my resolutions for two weeks and saw no change.

In Og Mandino’s book “The Greatest Secret in the World”, the author makes reference to push-ups.  To paraphrase, he asks how many push-ups could you do right now?  In two weeks if you did push-ups again, how many could you do?  Most likely it would be the same number.  Yet if you practiced push-ups every day, how many push-ups could you be doing in two weeks?  It would likely be a much higher number, perhaps 50 or more.  He then goes on to make the point that this type of conditioning works for your brain as well.
